Logitech Launches New Two-Way Light And Two Microphones For Gamers

Computer accessories giant Logitech continues its assault on the lucrative gaming market with even more products designed to make live streaming easier for dedicated gamers. Last month, the company announced the Logitech G PRO X TKL LIGHTSPEED gaming keyboard and Logitech G PRO X SUPERLIGHT 2 gaming mouse. You can read about them here. Now, it’s the turn of lighting and microphones to get the G PRO treatment.

The new Logitech G Litra Beam LX is a dual-sided RGB gaming light with an adjustable white CCT light on one side and LIGHTSYNC RGB on the other for creating the perfect ambiance for a livestreaming event. The Litra Beam LX lets gamers light their face correctly while the other side provides the ideal accent lighting for any gaming battle station.

The new Litra Beam LX light features a three-way mounting mechanism so the beam can be directed precisely where the light is needed. The white side of the light has a color temperature that’s adjustable from a warm 2700K to a chilly 6500K. The maximum brightness is a useful 4000 Lumens and the reverse side can be customized using 16 million color combinations.

The Logitech G Litra Beam LX stand is slim enough to fit on any desk without taking up too much space. The white light source uses Logitech’s proprietary TrueSoft technology for cinematic color accuracy. In contrast, the diffuser on the front of the light eliminates harsh shadows and makes any skin tone appear more natural.

To control the Litra Beam LX, users can install Logitech’s G Hub software to turn the light on and off, change its color temperature and adjust its brightness. Presets can be saved so the light can be customized and changed at the press of a button. As a backup, the Litra Beam LX also includes physical switches and buttons that can turn the light on and off, alter the color temperature and change the brightness.

Because the Litra Beam LX is G LIGHTSYNC-enabled, it can work with the Windows 11 RGB lighting tool called Windows Dynamic Lighting. This feature lets users coordinate their custom lighting effects across RGB-enabled products connected to the host computer.

Two more Logitech G products are being released today for the gaming market. The Logitech G Yeti Orb is a brand-new RGB gaming microphone with a plug-and-play USB connection. The Yeti Orb features a custom condenser capsule optimized for gaming and is very sensitive.

The Yeti Orb has a cardioid pickup pattern and it’s excellent at rejecting off-axis sounds like keyboard and mouse clicks. By using Blue VO!CE presets, the user can dial in the kind of sound they want for any game. The controls can prevent clipping and add sound effects like a chipmunk voice, space robot and many others. The Yeti Orb can be controlled directly from Logitech’s G HUB software. It’s worth pointing out that there’s no headphone output on the Yeti Orb for zero-latency monitoring, but that should be fine for the gaming market.

The final Logitech G product announced today is the new Yeti GX gaming microphone. Unlike the Yeti Orb, the new Yeti GX has a dynamic capsule for the maximum rejection of off-axis noise. This is the ideal microphone for reducing the amount of sound picked up. The Yeti GX is the mic for keeping the sound of keyboard and mouse clicks to a minimum.

As with the Yeti Orb, the Yeti GX USB microphone is compatible with LIGHTSYNC RGB technology, enabling the mic’s two light zones to synchronize with any other LIGHTSYNC RGB. The dynamic capsule technology in the Yeti GX has a supercardioid pickup pattern that can zoom in on the user’s voice while rejecting other sounds in the room.

Logitech describes its Yeti GX microphone as a studio-quality tool engineered to handle even the loudest sounds, such as a noisy victory cheer. The Yeti GX also features Smart Audio Lock, an intelligent device that adjusts the microphone’s gain by using an analog limiter to stop clipping. The Yeti GX also has a downward expander that reduces unwanted background noises.

The Yeti GX has the same style of scroll wheel used on Logitech’s iconic gaming mouse. The scroll wheel provides one-handed control of the microphone’s gain level. Once the user has decided on the ideal gain, they can press the scroll wheel and the Yeti GX sets the Smart Audio Lock level. Like the Yeti Orb, the Yeti GX doesn’t have a headphone output for zero-latency monitoring.

Verdict: The new Litra Beam LX light is an excellent evolution of the first Litra Beam light by adding the RGB ambient lighting alongside Logitech’s TrueSoft technology to make the white light cinematically accurate for all skin tones. Because the Litra Beam LX has its own USB power supply, it can output more light than if it had to rely on USB bus power.

The Yeti Orb is a sensibly priced condenser microphone for gamers. Its quirky design will appeal to gamers and the Orb is an excellent way of boosting the sound quality during gaming at a sensible price. The compatibility with G LIGHTSYNC sets it apart from most other USB mics on the market. The sound quality is outstanding and is bound to be gamers’ favorite.

The Logitech G Yeti GX is a fabulous-looking USB microphone with superb lighting effects and a clever Smart Audio Lock feature that ensures the gain level is locked in. An analog limiter stops the mic from clipping when the gaming gets enthusiastic. The sound quality from the Yeti GX’s dynamic capsule is excellent and this mic is very good at rejecting unwanted sounds.

All three new Logitech G products will appeal to that fickle gaming market. Logitech is doing a great job transforming itself from a grey seller of keyboards and mice into a fashionable gaming brand that makes some superb products bound to appeal to the gaming market. That’s quite a feat to pull off.
